A wanted man who set himself on fire near White house, died in hospital

The Washington law enforcement officers confirmed that the man who set himself on fire near White house, has died from his injuries.

Yesterday, may 29, at about 12:20 the Secret service and Park police responded to a report of a fire in the Ellipse is filled with tourists to a public Park, located to the North of the Washington monument. The officers extinguished the flames and brought the unknown to a local hospital. Doctors were unable to save him: he died on the evening of the same day.

This is the guy who set himself on fire in front of the White House yesterday, Arnav Gupta.

Later it became known that the man who set himself on fire, this 33-year-old Arnav Gupta from Bethesda (Maryland), who was reported missing on the morning of may 29. Police Department Montgomery County announced in a post on Facebook that Gupta was last seen by relatives when he left their home around 9:20.

«Police are concerned for the physical and emotional state Gupta», — stated in the message.

The witness of the incident, 17-year-old Alina Berzins, came to see the White house with his cousins when he saw a man running in flames.

«We just wanted to take a picture of the White house, and he just appeared out of nowhere,» the girl said in an interview with NBC News, adding that the police quickly responded to the incident.

Last month there was a similar case when a man in a wheelchair set himself on fire near the White house. Then the man was injured, not dangerous for life.

The Gupta’s motivations remain unknown, and the investigation is conducted by the Metropolitan police. Not reported, was the President of Donald trump at his residence during the incident.
