22-year-old boy was arrested after he beat a cat and drowned in his home pool

22-year-old resident of Houston (state of Texas) was charged with animal cruelty after a surveillance camera captured his torture of a cat.

According to authorities, on September 7 Javonte Darion Alexander was captured on surveillance cameras when he threw the cat into the pool of a house in the 900 block of Cypress Station Drive.

The video also noticeable, as Alexander repeatedly beat the cat over the head with shoes and hands, when the cat tried to get out of the pool. Later, he was holding the cat under the water and took it out of the pool when the animal was unconscious or dead.

«This video is hard to watch,’ said constable Alan Rosen. — Anyone who hurts an animal should be prosecuted. This cat was defenseless. Our society should not tolerate such cruelty to animals.»

In the case of conviction, houstonzoo faces 2 to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10 thousand.
