In Florida, lightning hit a 26-year-old pregnant girl, which then went into labor.
As reported by the television channel of South Florida NBC2, the victim — Megan Davidson — located in a gated community in Fort Myers. At this time the area was just swept by a series of severe storms and thunderstorms. Lightning hit in Megan about 16.30 PM.
The girl was found lying on the ground. It was immediately taken to a local hospital. Before the scheduled delivery date Megan has been another week, but doctors decided to induce. She gave birth to a boy, Owen.
In the hospital the injured were in critical condition, doctors later reported that as Megan is «serious but stable». Status of the newborn is unknown.
