18 Dec 2019 citizens EN masse visited the memorial to the murdered Angie Monroy on South Rockwell street in Chicago. She walked on Saturday on the street when shots rang out. 16-year-old Angie received a gunshot wound to the head. The girl was taken to hospital in critical condition and died.
According to the official police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, Monroy, likely to have been an unintended target. She had no criminal record, and there is no evidence that it was gang related. «She was walking home after work in the store,» he said.

Shootings of bystanders

Seven year old Giselle, dressed in a suit Minnie mouse, was shot in the neck and chest, but miraculously survived.

Over the next six weeks and two 16-year-old student and a 32-year-old nurse — was also shot in little Village (Chicago), becoming involuntary witnesses of gang conflicts. From the received wounds they died.

Witnesses also provided a video that helped locate the vehicle involved in the murder 16 Dec 16-year-old Angie Monroy. This helped to quickly solve the crime.
Guglielmi said that police had never seen «this level of cooperation and involvement» of the inhabitants of the little Village. The press Secretary also expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ogden police district, which patrols the little village, for «improved relations» with the people».
«Now they know they can trust us», — he said.
Benjamin «benny» Estrada, a former gang member, who spent many years working with troubled Teens, said residents of the area — and even some members of the gang, tired of violence. According to him, the villagers are no longer afraid to help the police, «because the bandits start firing at houses.» Estrada said that the recent executions of three innocent victims shocked the community, but the ongoing conflict between the gangs will not go away.
