At the spooky footage from the DVR published by the office of the Sheriff County of San MATEO (California), a dark SUV speeding on the highway, and then at full speed crashes from the cliff. The car instantly disappears from the frame.
Tragedy, captured on video, happened around 11 a.m. on Monday, December 30. Witness driving South on Highway 1, reported that he saw the SUV traveling North and taking off from the cliff.
CalFire (the Fire service of the state), California patrol (California Highway Patrol), fire Department County of San MATEO and the County Sheriff’s office San MATEO came together in search of the car and the driver. The water depth at the base of the cliff is about 40 feet. Rescuers found the tire tracks at the cliff and the parts of the car in the water, but it is unclear exactly part whether it’s the car that disappeared in the waters on Monday.
As of Wednesday, January 1, rescuers found no car, no passengers.
«Unfortunately, we were temporarily forced to suspend search operations due to strong waves and were unable to resume work on Wednesday, told Bert Diaz, the representative of the public information division of the California highway patrol. — The conditions too dangerous to continue the search. And this weather is forecast in the next couple of days.»
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
