From words to deeds

After the assassination of General Soleimani, Iran vowed to take revenge on US for his death. The statement was made that for these purposes is already selected 35 important to America’s strategic goals, which are in direct access for Iranian armed forces.

In response, Donald trump said that America, too, has already selected 52 Iranian targets (the number 52 American hostages held by Iran many years ago), some of which are very important for Iran and Iranian culture.

….hundreds of Iranian protesters. He was already attacking our Embassy, and preparing for additional hits in other locations. Iran has been nothing but problems for many years. Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have…..

January 6, Hassan Rohani, President of Iran, in turn, made the following tweet:

Those who refer to the number 52 should also remember the number 290. #IR655
Never threaten the Iranian nation.

— Hassan Rouhani (@HassanRouhani) January 6, 2020

This message is a reference to the tragedy that occurred in the Persian Gulf in 1988, when the U.S. Navy shot down a missile defense Iranian civilian aircraft. As a result of the tragedy killed 290 civilian Iranians.

On the night of 8 January, Iranian armed forces attacked from the territory of Iran 2 Iraqi military facilities, deployed troops U.S. air base al-Asad base in the area of Erbil city. After a few hours crashed Ukrainian Boeing 737 during takeoff from the airport in Tehran.

American power prudently closed the skies over Iran for its civilian flights. Iran itself, its airspace was not closed at that time. Now flights over the region suspended.

This coincidence has spawned many variants of the reasons of falling of the liner, not the least of which is the version of ballistic missiles. The government of Iran of its involvement in the incident deny. The preliminary version of the causes of the crash — the plane’s engine caught fire.
