The helicopter crashed in the backyard of a home in Pennsylvania on Thursday, January 9th. In the crash two people on Board were killed.
No one on the ground was injured when the plane crashed in a residential area near Mechanicsburg, which is part of the village of silver spring, according to a representative of Cumberland County John Brush.
Around 8 PM, 911 received numerous calls from residents who reported a fallen helicopter. Police and firefighters responded to the incident and found that the aircraft fell in the fenced yard.
The names of the dead are not yet available. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
No house in the neighborhood was injured. At the scene there was a small spill of fuel, but there was no fire.
According to Brusa, the plane was not medical. The representative provided no further information about his origin or purpose.
Investigators from the Federal aviation administration and the National safety Board transport will have to investigate the accident. Brush suggested that it would be a «long, drawn-out process.»
