American beaten to death 3-year-old boy with a baseball bat because he ate a cupcake

A resident of Atlanta has admitted to having beaten to death a 3-year-old boy with a baseball bat because he ate the cupcake.

11 December, Laserle Morris pleaded guilty in the death of Caguana Mason, who was found severely beaten in «roach-infested» house in October 2017, according to WXIA.

The boy died from his injuries in hospital on 21 October 2017.

Morris and her sister Glendia Morris legal guardian of a boy at the time — insisted that he choked on a cupcake. But the autopsy showed that the child died from blunt force trauma, besides the boy had bruises on his legs, back, chest, buttocks, arm and head.

«I have five grandchildren. Was six. It’s not fair. He was 3 years old. What can a child of 3 years to get to beat him to death?» said grandma Caguana, Xavier Upshaw, during a hearing in 2018.

In addition to murder, Laserle Morris pleaded guilty on charges of aggravated assault and ill-treatment of children. WXIA reports that she was sentenced to life imprisonment with possibility of parole.

On Friday, January 31, the Prosecutor’s office announced the transaction about recognition of fault Morris.

The case against Glendree Morris, the defendant in that it did not stop the tragedy, is still pending.

In 2017 Kejuan and his three siblings were placed in the custody of protective Services of families and children of Georgia after their mother was arrested on charges of misconduct. The boy’s mother, Geraldine Mason, allegedly left the children home alone and brutally they were treated.

Later, Mason was reunited with one of his children when she was released from custody in April 2017, after which it also requested temporary custody for Caguana and his twin brother. Mason suggested that Glendree Morris, the godmother of the boy, was his guardian.
