The most famous Groundhog in the United States this year pleased with the forecast of Americans, it seems, we will have an early spring.
Yesterday, February 2, Groundhog Day, Punxsutawney Phil, who lives in Pennsylvania, saw his shadow, which means that the US is coming early spring.
Soon after, the Groundhog of new York, Staten island Chuck, confirmed «forecast» Phil for an early spring, also not seeing his shadow. This was stated by the speaker of the city Council of new York Corey Johnson.

Legend has it that if the Groundhog in your day, February 2, will see his shadow this morning, to expect six more weeks of winter weather. Otherwise, spring is near.
The tradition of Groundhog Day continues in America for 134 years. According to statistics, the Groundhog has seen his shadow 104 times and 20 times – not seen. After a further 10 years of records is not preserved.
Despite the huge attention given to Punxsutawney Phil in early February, the accuracy of its predictions is still questionable.
For example, in 2017, Phil saw his shadow that meant six more weeks of winter, but February 2017 was the second warmest February in the history of the United States.
In 2018, Phil also saw his shadow and correctly predicted the cool beginning of spring. February was a very warm month for much of the United States, especially in the North-East. Generally, in the twenty-first century Phil in his SYNOPTIC forecasts were slightly less accurate than 50%. But, hopefully, this year will justify itself, and the long-awaited spring is not far off.
