This Wednesday Jennifer Flynn Cataldo from Alabama, gathered 264 163 thousand dollars donation for a supposedly «terminal cancer patient» in the pages of GoFundMe, was sentenced to prison. In August of this year, she pleaded guilty to the fraud charges.

In the period from 2014 to 2017, the woman lied to others, pretending to be suffering from cancer in terminal stage. 37-year-old liar made two account on GoFundMe and received donations from unsuspecting people.

U.S. district judge Virginia Hopkins sentenced Cataldo to 25 years of imprisonment. Also, it will have to pay damages to all victims. «More than two years she was taking advantage of a complex scheme, due to the compassion and generosity of her friends and family.
