Malibu authorities are asking the Church not to feed the homeless

The city authorities asked for the Malibu Church that helped the homeless for many years, to stop feeding people left homeless.

The city authorities appealed to the United Methodist Church with the requirement to stop the free Lunches, because, as the words of officials, one of the workers of the Church, it «helps to increase the number of homeless».

United Methodist Church organized charity dinners for the homeless every Wednesday in 2014. One meal was calculated, at least 100 people. Now the last free lunch will be served on thanksgiving.

«This is a safe place,» — said the homeless Michael Johnson Agency CBS. «Everyone is welcome here and the food is really good, it’s homemade».

«The Church is very useful,» he added. «It supports my mood. When you are homeless, it is very easy to slip off and give up».

«I think that many of them eat out of dumpsters and garbage cans when they don’t eat us,» said Kay Ms. Gabbard, employee of the United Methodist Church. «We can’t pretend homelessness does not exist in our backyard. We can’t pretend that it exists just outside Malibu.»
