The FBI verifies information on violations to the office of the Governor of new York Andrew Cuomo in the implementation of recruitment of new employees. As reported by the Albany Times Union, the office hires people, wages paid by other state bodies and structures. This allows the Governor to expand the headquarters staff, without prejudice to the state budget.
At this point, FBI agents questioned employees of the office of the Governor of the known facts concerning the recruitment. It is not clear whether the performed employees who received a salary from the funds of other state agencies, some work in the office of the Governor or entirely in official employers.
The press service of the FBI does not give any explanations in connection with the ongoing interrogations. What rules of law was violated by the Governor’s office is also not clear. However, according to the Albany Times Union more than 40% of the staff of the office of the Governor (89 of 209 people) receive salary from other government agencies.
Representatives of Cuomo’s office described the allegations set forth Albany Times Union «absurd» and stated that such a practice has been around for several decades and never had any questions about its use.
«Various agencies are part of the same Executive branch of government, and this administration holds the same legal recruitment process, which we inherited from the previous administrations who practiced it for decades,» — said a spokesman for Cuomo , Richard Azzopardi.
In the Governor’s office declare that such hiring practices are also used in the White house and the Department of justice and the FBI suggest to check the legality of their actions.
