In California want to ban plastic straws

Winning the battle against plastic bags, the California ecologists undertook plastic straws for drinks. The idea to impose on them a taboo has won the support of local legislators.

This week a proposal to limit the use of straws has put forward four legislators.

Bill #1884, proposed on Wednesday a member of the California Assembly, Ayan Kaledrina, includes a ban on the uncontrolled use of plastic fixtures restaurants in the Golden state. If the legislative initiative will be held, catering establishments will be able to give the tubes solely at the request of customers. According to the author of the bill, it will certainly reduce their use.

A similar proposal was made by Nuri Sardines, Mike Bonin and Mitch O Farrell from the municipal Council of Los Angeles.

According to the nonprofit organization Еcocycle, US residents use every day 500 million straws. This quantity could fill 127 school buses daily, or 400 46 school bus per year.

Since effective recycling programs for this kind of plastic missing, it poses a real threat to animals, clogging their digestive system.
