On the territory of the Russian Federation for the first time in history was officially recognized same-sex marriage between two men. It is reported by the opposition TV channel «Rain», referring to the information of the newly minted spouses.
Citizens of Russia Eugene Wojciechowski and Paul Stocco signed on 4 January in Copenhagen, where the marriage between the representatives of the LGBT community legally.
In order to confirm their marital status in the Russian passports, the couple-gays presented in Mmnogofunkcionalniy center providing state and municipal services in Moscow, documents of marriage and the translations certified by a notary. The Agency which carries out interaction with public authorities, local governments and municipal organizations, promptly and «without question» put the stamps. According to the newlyweds, the officer did not even give any signs of surprise.
Note that the Family code allows inmates to recognize overseas marriages, if they do not contradict its 14th article, namely: one of the spouses is not another legal marriage, the future spouses are not to each other relatives, adoptive parents and adopted children, none of them declared incapacitated due to a mental disorder.
As you can see, talking about sexual orientation in the family code is not, therefore, obstacles to the recognition of marriage between Voitsekhovsky and Stocko was not.
However, they do not apply to the MFC and the registry office, it is unlikely that anything would turn out. On the question of whether to put in the passport stamp on conclusion of same-sex marriage abroad, the press service of the Ministry opaque hinted that no. Recalling all the same family code, a representative of the Moscow civil registry office stated that «marriage requires mutual voluntary consent of the men and womenwho marry».
