«William Earl Talbott II appeared in court. Bail set at $2 million frozen in the murder of 30-year-old Tanya van Cuilenburg and Jay cook.»

«He was never in any list of law enforcement agencies, said a Snohomish County detective Jim Scarf after arrest Talbott. – If not genetic genealogy, we wouldn’t be here».

Van Cuilenburg and cook left home in Sangaha (British Columbia), on the night of 18 November 1987, and went to Seattle for the purchase of parts for the furnace. They were traveling in a brown Ford van 1977 model year. Soon, their families reported them missing.

A few days later, on November 24, a man was accidentally discovered the body of van Kuilenburg on the road South of Bellingham (Washington state). Medical examination showed that the girl was tied up, raped and shot in the head.

Cook’s battered body was found the next day about two miles South of Monroe (WA). Two places where the bodies were found, is located approximately 75 miles from each other. Then it failed to break the deadlock.

And now, after 31 years in April 2018 – investigators from the districts of Snohomish and Skagit sent a DNA belonging to the killer van Cuylenburg in the laboratory, which can roughly determine the person based on the characteristics embedded in its genetic code. Then in the database I found two possible relatives Talbott.

The police brought the man in for questioning and took his DNA, which is 100% consistent with that which was taken from the scene of the crime.

This new approach helped to catch «the killer of the Golden state», which in the 70-80-ies of the terrorized California. He was a former COP, D.Joseph James Deangel.
