Four men who have been in the child abused by teacher of Catholic school, reached an agreement with the Brooklyn diocese. They will receive compensation in the amount of $27.5 million , approximately $6.8 million each. This amount is one of the largest ever awarded to victims of sexual violence in the Catholic Church.

Molester is 67-year-old Angelo Serrano, a former school teacher with St. Lucy’s-St. Patrick’s Church in Brooklyn. In 2011, he pleaded guilty and is already serving a 15-year prison sentence.
The Brooklyn diocese said that Serrano was a volunteer at the local parish, and was not a spiritual person.
