The police of the city of Syracuse in the state of new York ordered the physicians to examine the rectum of a detainee men in search of drugs. After doctors found nothing, the hospital put the affected account to $4500.
According to the lawyer, 42-year-old Terrence Jackson, his client lost consciousness and was subjected to forced sigmoidoscopy (instrumental examination of the lower portion of the large intestine, including the rectum) to St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center.

Lead counsel for the hospital said that the doctors had acted «according to Protocol».
«St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center implements decisions of the court. Including check the availability of foreign bodies from the arrested, who come to our hospital is in custody and suspected of concealing contraband,» — said in a statement the hospital.
The incident began with the fact that the man violated traffic rules and was stopped by police.
