A simple gesture prevented the tragedy: school coach disarmed waving his gun student a hug (video)

Kenon Lowe, a former player of a sports team University of Oregon Ducks, who now works in the school of Portland, said that the face of the student realized that the weapon in his hands now.

Angel Granados-Diaz (19) shown in the video, when he enters the building of fine arts school Parkrose High School in Portland with a firearm hidden under his jacket. The police said that the boy had a mental health crisis when he came to school with a loaded gun.

Kenon Lowe, who works as a coach at the school, said that he saw something on the boy’s face that made him believe that weapons are present. «His view. I looked at the gun and realized that it was real, and then joined my instincts».

The video shows students flee when the coach took the kid had a weapon. Passing it to another teacher, Kinon hugged Angela. «I just wanted to let him know that I was there with him. Last week, he pleaded guilty to 2 charges relating to the carrying of a loaded gun in a public place. The judge sentenced him to 36 months probation, and immediate commencement of treatment of chemical dependency and mental problems.

County da Multnomah Parham Singh said, «during the investigation it became clear that Mr. Granados-Diaz did not intend to hurt anyone at school Parkrose High School, except himself,» according to KGW.

The decision in this case will help Granados-Diaz to deal with suicidal ideas and ensures that he will take responsibility for bringing to school a loaded gun, added Singh.
