Iran freed the 54 000 prisoners to «combat the spread of coronavirus»

Iran has temporarily released 54 thousand prisoners with low risk to stop the spread of coronavirus. Encased in a prison of the British Nazanin of Sagari Ratcliff may also be temporarily released.

Zagari Ratcliff was imprisoned for five years in 2016 after she was jailed on charges of espionage. The woman denied the allegations.

Iran currently has one of the worst outbreaks since the coronavirus has infected about 2,500 Iranians. Of them died from this infection at least 77 people in less than two weeks. Iranian authorities have also been accused of hiding the real figures.

A group of experts from the world health organization (who) arrived in Iran on Monday, provides support to local health authorities.
