ICE arrested a suspect in the rape, who «overstayed» the period of stay in the US for 20 years

On Wednesday in Boston (Massachusetts) employees of ICE have arrested a citizen of Zimbabwe, who is charged with committing a criminal offence.

42-year-old Alois Mutare, Zimbabwe citizen, who legally entered the United States in 1999, has significantly violated the terms of his permit and overstayed the status of «temporary visitor» for almost 20 years. He was arrested on charges of raping a Boston police in December 2019, and earlier this month he was charged with.

ICE took custody of Mutare after his release from a local criminal court on March 4. He will remain in prison ICE pending immigration proceedings.

The arrest of Mutare was one of the 209 arrests, committed by employees of ICE over the past week in New England.

Among those arrested were:

  • 48-year-old citizen of Guatemala, was convicted of murder and kidnapping;
  • 29-year-old citizen of Liberia and a member of the Bloods gang, was convicted of conspiracy to commit extortion and burglary;
  • 34-year-old previously deported, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, who is accused of murder and armed robbery in the country.

Was arrested citizens of the following countries: Angola, Brazil, Burundi, Cape Verde, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Italy, Ireland, Jamaica, Liberia, Mexico, Portugal, Trinidad and Zimbabwe.

All detainees were different criminal history, including convictions or expectation of criminal prosecution for rape, drug trafficking (heroin/fentanyl), sexual violence, seduction of minors, assault and battery, robbery, domestic violence, fraud, extortion and forgery.
