In viral video arrested the doctor who performed free tests for coronavirus homeless

On weekends the doctor and the father of two daughters Armen Henderson, who was handing out free tests for coronavirus homeless in Miami, was arrested outside his home. The doctor thinks that the incident has discriminatory ground, as he is African American.

«If I was a man with light skin or white man and was just doing the same thing, I don’t believe he would stop me,» Henderson told CNN.

Henderson, a therapist from University of Miami Health System, said that on Friday, April 9, he Packed the van with tents, which was going to give to the homeless, and put the box in his yard, when he entered a police car. The officer told him that he had heard complaints from neighbors about the large amount of garbage, and then demanded identification.

When Henderson responded that the documents were left at home, then suddenly the officer cuffed him and started to scream.

«Suddenly his finger was on my face, he pointed at me, yelled at me, saying: «don’t call me sir, call me sarge,» said Henderson. It was very humiliating».

After the wife of the man went outside and showed his ID, the officer returned to the car and drove away without an apology.

Henderson told CNN that the incident had a psychological impact on his family and that his wife was «really shocked» seeing him in handcuffs. The doctor also pointed out the health risks on the background of the pandemic-related touch to it officer.

«He put me in danger,’ said Henderson. — Now at risk my job and the people I love, and my patients.»
