As reported by attorney General Jeff sessions and Secretary of the Department of health and human services Tom Price, 412 U.S. physicians in 41 Federal district accused of fraud with recipes. Of those charged 120 people participated in the illegal appointment of patients of drugs based on narcotic drugs — opioids.
According to the Prosecutor, the accused doctors prescribe unnecessary medicines to patients at inflated prices. «Doctors, nurses and pharmacists have broken your vow,» said sessions. «They turned their practice into a crime, not realizing, it seems, the catastrophic consequences of their greed. They are not only enriched at the expense of taxpayers, but also made its «contribution» to the problem of drug addiction».
Tom Price called the fraud an «insult to all Americans» who rely on the national health program.
According to the Prosecutor General and Roman sessions, the case is still not completed.
«In fact, this is only the beginning. We will continue to find, arrest and convict the crooks and drug dealers, whoever they were and wherever,» — said the Prosecutor.
