A serial cat killer was sentenced to 16 years in prison for the abduction, torture and murder of more than ten cats in California.
Robert Farmer pleaded guilty to the murder of 18 cats and wounded three more in the area of Cambrian Park in San Jose in the fall of 2015.
The judge read the names of cats aloud during the sentencing Farmer and noted that the body of one of them named Go-Go is still not found.
The owner of Go-Go, Miriam Petrova, he said in Facebook: «Finally, today, after almost two years and 15 hearings, justice for our children».
According to NBC, one of the abduction was caught on surveillance camera. Farmer was found 8 October 2015 with a dead cat in his car. The police also found pieces of fur, blood, fur gloves and a hunting knife in the vehicle.
At least one of the victims farmer died from injuries with a blunt object. She was also subjected to sexual violence, as shown by the autopsy. On this basis the owner of the cats — Miriam Martinez believes that the Farmer should be included in the list of sex offenders.
According to the verdict, the Farmer is forbidden to approach the area of Cambrian Park closer than 100 yards. In addition, he was not allowed to own or look after a pet for 10 years after his release.
