Grandparents are US citizens excluded from the travel ban

Grandparents of US citizens living in the six Muslim countries, which are subject to an immigration ban imposed by President trump can now get a visa to enter the United States. This was said to the Agency Reuters with reference to documents of the US state Department.

The Memorandum outlining the new position of the state Department, was sent Friday to all U.S. diplomatic service. The document was signed after the court of Hawaii on Thursday ruled that the government may not prohibit grandparents, and other relatives of United States citizens from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen to get a visa to USA to visit relatives. The decision took effect immediately despite the appeal by the presidential administration.

However, without waiting for the decision of the court of appeal, the concept of «close relatives» decided to clarify. Now these include «grandparents, grandchildren, sons-in-law and sister-in-law, aunts and uncles, nephews and nieces, cousins». They all have the right visa.
