Now for smokers in new York is struggling because of the new bill.
Yesterday, August 9, the city Council of new York approved a new package of laws on tobacco products. In particular, the bill includes raising the minimum cost of a pack of cigarettes in all five boroughs of the Big Apple.
The pack will cost a minimum of 14 dollars, whereas now the minimum price is 10.5 USD.
The bill still must be signed by the mayor of new York bill de Blasio, but the officials have full confidence that he will do it.
In addition, the bill reduces the number of vendors of cigarettes and prohibits the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products in pharmacies.
As reported by ABC7, in new York recently reduced the percentage of smokers, not least by increasing taxes on tobacco products.
