Joseph Kobzon was born on 11 September 1937 in the city chasov Yar, Donetsk region. In 1963 he graduated from the State musical-pedagogical Institute. Gnessin state musical College, vocal class.
The last few years, Kobzon was Deputy Chairman of the state Duma Committee on culture.
