To the Bank of the United States nailed a mysterious worm-like creature with spikes of bone, which has puzzled even experts

On the shore of the beach of Shackleford Banks in North Carolina have washed a mysterious object similar to a worm with bone spikes. Experts from the Cape Lookout National Seashore, part of the national Park Service, was struck by this mystery and appealed to the public to identify an amazing creature.

The staff of Cape Lookout, wrote: «On the beach found a strange creature. Guys, we need help with identification of this object».

Sharing photos on Facebook, they said: «a Passer-by found him today on the Eastern end of Shackleford Banks and allowed us to take photos. While we’re stuck and have no idea what it could be. We «think» (but we’re not sure) that it is the ornate tube worm, and these white, reminiscent of the bones of the structure were part of the tube. But we have no idea what kind of bone structure.»

The worm with feathers, decorative or ornate worm, sometimes the worm is a marine worm.

The residual pergamentseva external tube sometimes washes ashore. They resemble a rope, but actually it is a tube in which the worm lived in shallow waters, formed from pieces of shells and debris from the ocean.

When the organization appealed to Facebook users to help them, this has led to a number of the most unbelievable assumptions, including that it is «a kidney stone of the whale.» Although some agreed with the Cape Lookout that it may be florid, the worm, the other in bewilderment, scratching their heads. Someone joked: «I’m not saying it’s aliens, but…» Renee Farley decided that it was «thorns and dead skin fish-urchin». And Leslie Betsill insisted that it was a sea cucumber. But as it turned out in the end, most of the assumptions were not close.

After some time, the staff of Cape Lookout wrote: «Scientists from the Institute of marine Sciences, Virginia, and identified our strange object as the remains of American chylomicra. Bone structure is a protective spines of fish. Obviously, even these remains appear in the fossil record and is known to paleontologists. Thanks to everyone who responded to us.»
