As the saying goes, «better to see once than hear a hundred times». This expression perfectly captures the incident that occurred during graduation ceremonies of the kindergarten for 5-year-old girl.
Parents Ondrej and Matt Smith filmed the emotional moment when their 8-year-old son Derek hugged the younger sister of Charlie during her farewell ceremony from kindergarten, and his cheeks tears rolled.
Ondrej described the incident on Facebook: «He said «I’m so proud of you.» Then, of course, my daughter started to cry. While we were brushing away the tears, my husband asked her «Pumpkin, why are you crying?» to which she replied, «I’m so happy.» We are so lucky with children.»
At this point, according to the woman, started a chain reaction and I lost control of myself. «My husband had wept openly. I looked and saw that the son is crying, why, of course, and I cried. Hearing our son telling his sister how he proud of her, my husband and I realized how lucky we are. Such moments allow us to stop for a minute and just feel proud of them,» said Ondrej.
A resident of Connecticut, who did not want to call the Agency that visited her daughter, told that the reaction shocked her.
«We are an emotional family, but we were surprised that he cried our son. Charlie loves Derek. She wants to do everything he does and Derek is a good big brother. Of course, they can get on each other’s nerves, but they are very close. They love each other,» said the woman.

If this was their reaction to the farewell ceremony for kindergarten, Ondrej says that their family could not hold back the next. «At your next prom or Derek will probably have to leave the room» she joked.
