The lead singer of The Cars 75-year-old RIC Ocasek found dead in a townhouse in Manhattan

RIC Ocasek, lead singer of the American rock band The Cars was found dead in his Manhattan apartment Sunday, September 15. About it, The Post reported law enforcement sources. He was 75 years old.

According to police, the Ocasek unconscious, found his wife Pauline Porizkova in bed at his home on East 19th Street at about 16:00. The ambulance pronounced him dead at the scene.

The cause of death is still unknown, but police said there were no signs of foul play.

Ocasek was inducted into the Hall of fame rock-n-roll in 2018.

The Cars became known after the release of the eponymous album in 1978, which included hits such as My Best Friend’s Girl and Just What Need Needed.

After a long hiatus, the group reunited in 2011 and released the album Move Like This. It was the first and only album without bassist Benjamin Orr, who died in 2000.

Ocasek recently put up for sale the house after he and his wife, 54-year-old model, actress and writer of Czech origin Polina Porizkova — announced his divorce in may 2018 after 28 years of marriage.
