A successful attempt of resident of Texas to be a family home video, which captures baby’s first steps, has melted the hearts of Internet users.
When Jim McKay bought a VHS player, he was surprised to find that it is still home video. Deciding to return the cassette player original owner, Jim, who works as a photographer and video operator, created his own video to spread information about the find to Facebook and YouTube.
«I recently purchased a used VHS player in cedar Park, Texas. Before I plugged it in a couple of months he spent at my house» — began his story in the video Jim. «Today I turned it on and found the tape. It’s a homemade video of a stunning family, who directed the first steps of the child»,- he added.
Then he showed a piece of video, which is dated 27 September 1994, in which the father encourages son as he takes the first step towards him.
«I share this video in hopes that you will be able to help,» said Jim. «I want to find this family. I want to give them back the tape with amazing memories, as well as their player so they can watch the tape. I hope we will be able to find this family. That would be amazing. I know that they would like to see the record.»
In just 24 hours Jim’s post went viral and drew the attention of a local television station. The child’s mother learned his son in the video. It was the 26-year-old Tyra Alexander, a teacher from Austin. Jim gave him the tape during the show TODAY.
«To have such a moment from the past, is a treasure. Someone found me gold. I was blessed to see something like that,» said the man, who now also has a daughter.
Jim also said he was glad to make such a special gift to Alexander and his family.
«I’m a father and it touched my heart. It was very emotional to see such. People didn’t removed everything like I used to, it was an important moment. They set up a camera, hoping to shoot this time, and they succeeded».
