Governor Cuomo and mayor de Blasio promised to go to court, if the President trump will cancel a program that protects tens of thousands of young immigrants living in new York, reports NYDailyNews.
It is anticipated that trump will announce his plans Tuesday.
«New York is going to fight for the abolition of this order in court. We are not going to tolerate this,» said Cuomo on Monday gathered at the West Indian-American Day Parade in Brooklyn.
The order will affect 30,000 people in the town and 40,000 in the state.
«We will not watch idly by as the political interests of Washington deported 40,000 new Yorkers,» said Cuomo. «That’s disgusting.»
Mayor de Blasio also did not stay aside from the sharp question: «no Matter whether they were born in another country, they were raised here, they consider themselves patriots and proud Americans, they just want to contribute to our society».
«The President of the trump must remember your hometown. He should remember how it is when people of different nationalities together and do everything to bring something to society. But, alas, he does not remember,» says de Blasio. «We’re going to go to court to fight him for the sake of the hope of our Dreamers. We’ll go to Congress and fight for the Law about the dream. Democrats and Republicans should understand that the deportation of these young people will make our country stronger.»
