Mueller was charged 12 members of the GRU of the Russian Federation for intervention in the elections

On Friday, special Prosecutor Robert Mueller has nominated 12 members of the GRU of the Russian Federation accused of hacking into Democratic National Committee to interfere in the US elections in 2016 year. It on a press-conferences were reported by the Deputy General Prosecutor Rod Rosenstein.

As reported by the assistant Prosecutor in the official statement of the Department of justice, eleven of the twelve defendants «charged in a conspiracy to break into computers, steal data and their subsequent diffusion in order to influence the election,» two – target of hacking into the computers of the organizations responsible for observation and monitoring of elections.

Among the fake online accounts created by the suspects, «the DCLeaks» and «Guccifer 2.0» used to «drain» the stolen emails and other documents, beginning in June 2016.

In addition, according to the statement, officers of the Russian GRU hacked into the website of state election Commission, by stealing information on nearly 500,000 voters, and the computers of the company that supplied the software needed to confirm their registration.

As emphasized by Rosenstein, at this stage, allegations that American citizens were not made. On a press-confernece he also called the names of the suspects GRU officers: Victor Netyksha, Boris Antonov, Dmitry badin, Ivan Ermakov, Alexei Lukashev, Sergey Morgachev, Nicholas Kozachek, Pavel Ershov, Artem Malyshev, Aleksandr Osadchuk, Alexey Potemkin and Anatoly Kovalev.
