According to a new CNN poll, 66% of Americans want special Prosecutor Robert Mueller has completed the investigation of Russia’s intervention in the presidential campaign of 2016 before the November Congressional elections.
In the opinion of 26% of respondents, Muller should not rush to put the point in this case. At the same time, the share of voters for whom the results of the investigation will play a critical role during the upcoming vote, up 7 points to 30%.
Recall that Donald trump has repeatedly called the investigation of the Russian intervention in U.S. presidential election «witch hunt» and continues to assert that there is no conspiracy with the Kremlin was not there. On some issues public opinion since last summer have not changed. At the same time, 4 out of 10 believe this trial is an attempt to discredit the current President.
As before, more than half of US citizens (56%) believe that trump tried to intervene in the investigation. (In February, so it was considered 55%.) As well as in December, 56% of respondents have not changed their view that the President often makes false statements regarding the trial of Muller.
The survey was conducted by SSRS from 9 to 12 August over the phone.
