After a secret overnight flight from Washington the President and first lady landed on the darkened runway at the air base al Asad West of Baghdad. This was the first trip of the tramp in the combat zone after taking office.

This secret trip happened in a delicate moment for US (during shutdown) and in the region, since the beginning of December the President announced the withdrawal of American troops from Syria.
