Surprise visit: trump and first lady made a surprise military in Iraq since his first visit a war zone

After President trump was criticized for the fact that he, unlike his predecessors, did not meet the us military during the holidays, today, December 26, the US leader and his wife Melanie made a surprise visit to Iraq.

After a secret overnight flight from Washington the President and first lady landed on the darkened runway at the air base al Asad West of Baghdad. This was the first trip of the tramp in the combat zone after taking office.

Press Secretary of the White house Sarah Sanders posted on Twitter a photograph in which trump and his wife are among the soldiers.

«President trump and the first lady went to Iraq late on Christmas eve to meet up with our military and senior military leadership to thank them for their service, achievements and sacrifice and wish them a merry Christmas», signed the Sanders.

Couple of the Trumps spent about three hours among the US military.

This secret trip happened in a delicate moment for US (during shutdown) and in the region, since the beginning of December the President announced the withdrawal of American troops from Syria. It is the last solution to connect the resignation of the Minister of defense of Jim Mattis, who did not agree with the decision of the commander-in-chief. While trump has done the same in Iraq.

«I think that many will come to my way of thinking. It’s time we start using our heads,» said trump at the air base al-Asad during his first visit to troubled region.

According to the Associated Press, the President told travelling reporters that the US may attack ISIS «so quickly and so strongly» that the terrorist group «won’t know what the hell happened.» He also noted that more worried about the people accompanying him to Iraq, than about yourself.
