Last month, the Governor of new York Andrew Cuomo signed a law that now allowed to perform abortions after 24 weeks of pregnancy in cases when there is a threat to the mother’s life. Now abortion will be monitored by the health care laws, not criminal laws.
«Today we are making a huge step forward in the bitter struggle for ensuring the right of women to make their own decisions about personal health, including opportunities to have an abortion. With the signing of this bill, we make clear that women in new York will always have the right to control their bodies,» said Governor Cuomo in January.
Daley said Tuesday that he is not trying to «compete» with the Governor, and just offers to consider a different position and see what it looks like unborn baby.
