Ocasio-Cortez does not agree with the Professor to justify the psychopathy of the top entrepreneurs

The Congresswoman is a Democrat from the Bronx Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez drew attention to the published material in CNBC Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic analyzing psychopathic traits of the modern business elite, which stated that every fifth business leader — crazy, «but it’s not bad.»

Professor of business psychology at University College London and Columbia University says that 20% of the top executives in business are psychopaths. In particular, he mentions Steve jobs and Elon musk as examples of outstanding entrepreneurs, whose «specific personality made them so innovative, but with whom others find it difficult to work… Some of the most iconic businessmen were associated with egoistic tendencies.»

The Professor further notes that «jobs was fired from his own company, and he showed clear signs of low empathy and antisocial behavior: to Park at the Parking place for the disabled, intimidate and bully their employees… the Narcissistic side of the Mask also was shown quite often in its contacts with investors, media and employees, as well as his confrontational and chaotic social media presence». However, Chamorro-Premuzic comes to the conclusion that «it’s not so bad» because certain psychopathic tendencies can encourage people to innovate and maybe become a «catalyst of good».

Justifying psychopathy because low empathy, narcissism, dishonesty + lack of deep emotional attachments are traits that have made a tiny handful of people billionaires (yet land many more people in prison while not getting adequate mental healthcare) is very 2019. https://t.co/IDKm4qWkqn

Ocasio-Cortez did not agree with the Professor, replied in a tweet: «Excuse psychopathy is unacceptable, because low empathy, narcissism, dishonesty, absence of deep emotional attachments are the traits that created a tiny handful of people-billionaires». While Congresswoman reminds us how much of really sick people not getting proper medical and psychological care or is in prison.
