U.S. authorities in Miami (Florida) arrested a Mexican nationalwho is suspected that he was recruited by a government official of Russia.

Hector Alejandro Cabrera Fuentes, a resident of Singapore and a citizen of Mexico, was arrested Sunday after he arrived at Miami international airport with his wife, and therefrom to fly to Mexico city.

According to the statement of the Ministry of justice, Russian government official recruited him last year, and at the meeting in Russia earlier this month, the Russian presented a description of a certain car belonging to the U.S. government, and also instructed to find a car and take a picture of his license plate.

Last week the couple went to the residence of the U.S. official, and the wife of Fuentes photographed the license plate of the car.

The U.S. Department of justice said that her phone was found to have an elevated image of the license plate when the customs and border services of the United States inspected the phones for a couple at the airport.

«Fuentes confessed to law enforcement officers that the Russian government official commissioned him to carry out this operation», — noted in the Ministry of justice.

The Russian Embassy in Washington has not yet commented on the situation.

Fuentes is accused of «actions in the United States on behalf of a foreign government (Russia) without notice attorney-General» and in collusion.

The first hearing is scheduled for March 3 in world court of the United States in Miami.
