Three members of the Royal family was arrested in Saudi Arabia

Three high-ranking members of the Royal family of Saudi Arabia, including the king’s brother, was arrested for unknown reasons.

Two of the arrested men was one of the most influential figures in the Kingdom.

In 2017, dozens of Saudi Royal figures, Ministers and businessmen were arrested at the Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh after the crown Prince ordered the arrest of them.

Mohammed bin Salman is considered to be the de facto ruler of the Kingdom, after his father in 2016, has appointed a crown Prince.

He received international fame in 2016, when he promised to hold a series of economic and social reform in a deeply conservative country. Soon, however, Muhammad bin Salman has been involved in a series of scandals, including the murder of a Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi the Saudi Embassy in Istanbul in 2018.

As the BBC reports, the arrest occurred early Friday morning.

Among them are Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, the younger full brother of king Salman, the uncle and de facto ruler crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reports «Interfax» with reference to Reuters.

The New York Times also reports that he was arrested former crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef and the king’s cousin — Prince Nawaf bin Naif. The publication refers to a close relative and a former US official as confirming the detention.

Mohammed bin Nayef was the interior Minister until he was removed from office by placing under house arrest in 2017.
