The long-awaited meeting Donald trump , and Vladimir Putin, where in addition to the presidency was also attended by U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson, the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov , and two interpreters, had finally begun.
They exchanged pleasantries and handshakes, and trump said that he was honored to meet with Putin. The Russian President noted that he and trump have said several times on the phone“on very important issues on the bilateral agenda and the international agenda”, but, in his opinion, “telephone conversations is never enough”, therefore, a need for personal meetings.
In turn, Donald trump stated that it looked forward to “positive events that will occur for Russia and the United States.”
The meeting itself takes place behind closed doors. It is expected that it will last about 30 minutes.
