AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressli were re-elected for a second term in Congress

All four Democratic congressmen who are members of the so-called «squad» were re-elected to a second term. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York, Ilhan Omar from Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley from Massachusetts and Rashida Tlaib from Michigan will return to their seats in the US Congress.

“Our sisterhood is unbending,” Omar tweeted, joining Tlaib to become the first Muslim woman in the House of Representatives in 2016.

“Fighting for working class families in Congress has become the greatest honor, privilege and responsibility of my life. Said Ocasio-Cortez, who is the youngest congresswoman in history. «Thanks to the Bronx and Queens for re-electing me, despite the millions spent against us, and for entrusting me to represent you again.»

Other progressive politicians who have been re-elected for a second term include Pramila Jayapal from Washington and Mark Pokan from Wisconsin. In addition, Progressives Jamaal Bowman of New York and Corey Bush of Missouri, who won their first elections, will occupy Congress seats.
