The white House shrugged off the attempts of two congressional Democrats to propose the impeachment of President Donald Trump, calling their efforts «ridiculous.»
The resolution presented Al green (Texas) and brad Sherman (CA), is based on one that was adopted by the House of Representatives in 1974 against President Nixon, who was convicted of obstruction of justice.
In this project, trump charged that he «was going to use his power to prevent and terminate» the investigation of the interference of Russia in the elections and the secret assistance of the election campaign trump.
«I think this is absolutely ridiculous, this is a political game at its worst,» said chief Deputy press Secretary of the White House Sarah Sanders on Wednesday at a briefing. More she gave no additional comments.
Sherman acknowledged that while it is impossible to declare Trump impeachment. In his statement, he said that there was still «a long way», but expressed hope that the resolution will «inspire «fight» with the White House».
