To Mayo Clinic said that doctors found a glioblastoma last week during surgery to remove a blood clot above his left eye. The Senator and his family are considering different treatment options, including combination chemotherapy and radiation.
This week, the 80-year-old John McCain was in the house: he is recovering from surgery and passes the necessary tests. His office issued a statement saying the Senator is «in good spirits» and noting that doctors estimate his health condition as excellent. However, when McCain returns to the Senate they did not elaborate.
Glioblastoma is a rapidly progressing type of cancer of the brain. The prognosis for this diagnosis, as a rule, unfavorable.
The value of McCain in the Congress cannot be overemphasized. His absence deprived the Senate of a voice of conscience on many key issues, in particular, in the investigation about intervention of Russia in Election 2016.
Colleagues on both sides reacted quickly to the news, expressing sympathy and support. Trump McCain wished a speedy recovery. Former presidents Barack Obama and bill Clinton conveyed his best wishes through Twitter.

Senator John Hoeven said that the news about McCain’s diagnosis was announced during a meeting of senators from the Republican party and White house staff on health issues. This post just stunned the congregation.
In a written statement posted on Twitter, McCain’s daughter Meghan said that the news of his father’s illness affected each family member McCain. She also added that they now live in fear of the future. Earlier McCain had already been diagnosed with melanoma — a dangerous form of skin cancer.

Graham, probably his closest friend in the Senate, McCain became one of the leading critics of trump from Republicans, especially on foreign policy and national security.
