Sergey Kislyak has completed the mission of Russian Ambassador to USA

Russia’s Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak , the prominent figure in the dispute about Russian interference in the presidential elections of 2016 — completed diplomatic mission in Washington. About it the Russian Embassy in Washington announced on Twitter, explaining that the term Kislyak ended on Saturday.

Successor Kislyak was not announced immediately, although a possible candidate for this position is considered a Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs and former Deputy defense Minister Anatoly Antonov, who is known as a hardliner against the United States.

Before arriving in Washington, the new Ambassador, his duties will be fulfilled by the employee of the Embassy Denis Gonchar.

Almost all career Kislyak was associated with America. He first visited new York as part of the Soviet delegation to the United Nations in the early 80-ies of the last century. After that, he left to work at the Russian Embassy in Washington. In the beginning of the post of first Secretary and then counselor. In 1989 Kislyak returned to Russia. There for a long time he held senior positions in the Ministry of foreign Affairs.

Kislyak also served as the Ambassador of Russia in Belgium and the representative of Moscow in NATO.

In 2008 year, Sergey Kislyak was appointed Ambassador of Russia in the United States and was led here quite active. Not just the doors of the Embassy of Russia was opened for dinners, collecting various American officials – employees of the Pentagon, specialists in foreign policy, congressmen and journalists.
