The President confirmed that he intends to send US troops to Afghanistan, although this war has cost the United States $ 800 billion and more than 2.4 thousand lives of American soldiers. President Obama could not fulfill his promise to completely withdraw troops from Afghanistan, and Mr. trump, it seems, is following in the footsteps of its predecessor.
Where else are American military at the moment? According to the U.S. Department of defense, American forces still control or operate 179 bases in Germany, hundreds in Europe and 109 in Japan.
According to official estimates, the US has 686 bases in 74 countries of the world. If you compare the United States with two other countries with extensive military presence, it becomes clear that the Americans have practically no competitors. The French troops are in five countries (as well as 5 sections of French territory overseas), and the UK sent their troops in only eight countries, not counting the bases, which the United Kingdom shares with the United States and NATO.
