The family paid thousands of dollars for «luxurious» apartment in Los Angeles caught like a «bomb site»

Husband and wife talked about how they were shocked having arrived at the «luxury» Villa, which was rented in Los Angeles. As explained by the couple and the building was covered with broken glass, protruding pipes, stones and other signs of ongoing construction.

The family of Russell Illingworth from the UK booked a holiday in January, reports the online news site SWNS. They said that on arrival it turned out that the house is in the course of the reconstruction, despite the fact that they have paid over $3000 for the rental of the Villa for a week in the famous dedicated website.

«We always wanted to live in Los Angeles,» he told SWNS Becky Russell Illingworth. «Mark first came to the house to check things out. But when he got back in the car, he said, «Honey, we’re leaving, you can’t live here». But I still went inside. I went to the back yard and just thought «Oh my God». I could not believe my own eyes. The house was like a bomb site. I was angry and very upset».

Her husband adds that «everywhere lay the broken glass. The water in the pool was an awful green color, and there was also glass. It seemed that I was in construction.»

Although the family was able to find housing nearby, they say that originally they offered only 30% reimbursement for the rental (the amount was later increased to 40%). The family was informed that after contacted the site and those they considered to be a property owner, managed to return the spent money.

In a statement received SWNS, the site representative said, «since our goal is to ensure a pleasant stay, this is a rare case when a customer cancels an accommodation that is not up to his expectations. Our team works around the clock to investigate such cases and to help customers — in particular, to move in another accommodation if necessary. We brought customers an apology for reconstruction and offered to cover the cost of their alternative accommodation, along with additional costs. In addition, we work with landlords to ensure that they accurately describe the property for our future clients, especially in respect of any renovations».
