Harlem, Brooklyn and Queens today «steel blue». All because Citi Bike begins its latest phase of expansion.
Over the next month, the city bike program will hold this year’s last stage of expansion. 140 additional bike stations will appear in the Astoria, Long Island City, Crown Heights, and Prospect Heights. The extension will cover Manhattan, to 130th Street.
Thus, by the end of this year in new York will be used 12 000 and city bikes, as planned. It should be noted that it is twice more than in 2013.
As previously reported, the company plans to provide access to Citi Bike to all residents of the boroughs of new York city by 2020. For this purpose, the city will need 80,000 bikes.
