At least two of hotel Motel 6 in Arizona pass on their guest lists to the immigration and customs enforcement (ICE). As a result of such «cooperation» from February to August 2017 was made at least 20 arrests of illegal immigrants.
Phoenix New Times reported Wednesday that the guest lists are sent every morning. For this «service» in case of detection of a single illegal immigrant the hotel gets $ 200, said the publication of the lawyer Denise Aguilar.
«Every morning we send a report to ICE the names of everyone who rented a room in the hotel», — said one of the employees of the Department of information edition. «Every morning about 5 o’clock we audit, push the button and the program sends a report to ICE».
According to the information Times, the agents of ICE, getting the appropriate lists of guests and identifying suspicious individuals, and pay them a visit. Visits are made without an arrest warrant or a search warrant. Officers just knock on the guest door and asking to come in, then – to produce documents. If the members of ICE do not open the door, they can come back again, but this time with a warrant.
The newspaper tried to interview ICE employees on how to identify illegal immigrants, however, the service representative stated that methods of investigation, which he can’t tell.
