Thousands of Florida residents are still without electricity and telephone connection after Irma

The exact number of residents of Floridawho were left without the Internet and mobile communications due to hurricane Irma, is still unknown. Service providers have repeatedly refused to provide concrete information on the magnitude of the failures.

Meanwhile, the Miami Herald received hundreds of complaints from customers that suppliers are unable to provide clear information about the restoration of the Internet and mobile communications. As of Monday , the Federal communications Commission (FCC) stopped sending daily reports about the outage statewide.

According to the latest FCC, only about 14 730 left without communication, including 1434 in Miami-Dade and 924 in Broward. As for cable and Internet services, the FCC announced that 893 409 clients throughout the state failed.

Dan Saltman, one of the unhappy customers, announced that in the area of Miami beach the power supply is already restored, but Internet connection is still there. Provider is Atlantic Broadband, which is used by Dan, said that it is not a large-scale outage.

Chief Executive officer, Atlantic Broadband , Richard Shea , said: «There are still areas that we repair, and we employ additional technicians and contractors, but we are happy to announce that there is no large-scale outages. If any customers experience problems with service and they have the electricity in the house, they must contact Atlantic Broadband for advanced Troubleshooting and if necessary we will send one of our technicians on the spot to solve the problem.»
