Last year the traffic to the stores during Black Friday, which takes place annually on the day after thanksgiving, decreased by 1% compared to 2015. This is due to the fact that some shops never closed on thanksgiving Day.
On the website BestBlackFriday.com it is said that, despite the fact that many Black Friday now starts on thanksgiving Day, shops are still reluctant to open their doors.
On thanksgiving Day, which this year falls on November 23, more than 75 retail outlets of well-known retailers will be closed. In addition, some stores will open their doors even during Black Friday.
It is noteworthy that, according to co-founder BestBlackFriday.com Phil Dengler, this year Game Stop open for the first time on thanksgiving. The same goes for discount retailer Big Lots. This decision was upheld by employees and customers.
According to the online survey BestBlackFriday.com 57% of Americans do not support the idea of opening stores on thanksgiving Day. Even the representatives of trade networks want to give their employees and customers the opportunity to enjoy the holiday with their families without worrying about work and shopping.
