De Blasio said that SBS is already working on three new routes which will be completed by the end of this year: on Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Fulton Street and Fort Greene and on Main Street in Flushing.

A joint program of the Department of transport in the city, the MTA and SBS started in the Bronx in 2008. At the time when the city was headed by bill de Blasio, in new York there was already 6 existing SBS routes. Since then, their number has increased to 14.
